The Foyle V North West zone friendly has been arranged for Oct 16th.
This match should be turned into an annual event.
With both zones being neighbours it would seem perfect sense to give both zones a practice game.
It provides a good opportunity to blood new talent and also tryout positional changes.

Skipping Berth
With one of the established Foyle Skips moving on, this opens up a coveted spot on the Foyle Team.
Who whas the potential to fill this role, the obvious choice is D Ward if he decides to play and hopefully he will but if he doesn't then who are the contenders?
Possible Contenders
The Old Hands
J Miller
A constant third at zone level and has stepped up a few times when called upon. Skips for Dupont in the league, lots of experience. Wins several tournaments a year.
K McConomy
Also a constant third at zone level and skips for Dupont.
M Fahey
Played alot of games for Foyle both as a skip and as a third, loads of experience, not played alot of bowls over the past few seasons.
Young Pups
L Brittion
The Quiet Man, Good player, loads of potential and has won a few tournaments skipping though not in rinks.
R Kincaid
Another good player with loads of potential and has won rinks tournaments skipping although considered to play some rash shots at times.

Foyle Transfers
There is a lot of talk about players coming and going in Foyle.
Some are confirmed (bold) and others are possibilities
M Thompson
N Donnell
A Duffy
B Holmes
M Doherty
J Mullan
P Lynch
L Graham
D Ward
Players Out
E Curran
9 Players in 1 player out.
All 9 players good enough for a spot on the zone team.
So that would mean 8 possible changes to the team.
Could be quite a dilemma for the selectors but a positive one all the same.

Under new management
With Eddie having moved to Donegal the blog has now moved into new hands.
We at Foyle wish you all the very best, except when your playing Foyle.

Foyle Best Bowler
If we are to record results in league table for competitions within the Zone, we need a name and also a points system.
It will only be open to Foyle players, a suggestion for scoring based on feedback last time the topic was discussed would be;
Qualify 1 pt.
Semi-Finals 2 pts.
Runner-up 3 pts.
Winner 4 pts.
Unless something better is suggested we will stick to this, but still need a name.
Any suggestions?
