There is a lot of talk about players coming and going in Foyle.
Some are confirmed (bold) and others are possibilities
M Thompson
N Donnell
A Duffy
B Holmes
M Doherty
J Mullan
P Lynch
L Graham
D Ward
Players Out
E Curran
9 Players in 1 player out.
All 9 players good enough for a spot on the zone team.
So that would mean 8 possible changes to the team.
Could be quite a dilemma for the selectors but a positive one all the same.
They all would help the foyle team.
ReplyDeleteI thought A Duffy already played for foyle. if not why not --not a bad player! Need a big bench for homer to keep warm. :) It would be intresting to have Danny back but saturdays would be hard i feel.
Is the bear and jimmy jumping ship?
Malc kept the seat warm for NW but would have gotten a place this year. Manus had a great season last year after being out of the game for 10 years, improved his game and enjoying it also will be a bonus to foyle.
Noel had a good season with the vale, and will have to be on his game this year to keep up the win rate, a good inclusion for foyle aided by bro selector. P Lynch was a handful in his day, has he the same ability nowadays?
Time will tell as rumors are rife at this stage ot the year, roll on the friendly(is it still on).
Thanks for that Marty, yes the worst kept secret in history is out, Homer will be a Foyle player from here on, I am glad to add that my 3 buddies, Manus Lorenzo and Jimmy will be going as well, they and I are looking forward to the season ahead and the new challenge with Foyle, i have been overwhelmed by the responce and welcome we have had by most of the existing squad and i know we wuill be made to feel at home.... that will be a welcome change.

ReplyDeleteNo offence taken, but I will still be putting my name forward and would expect to be there or there abouts come the selection, again no offence offered but if you do not put your name to your posts how will anyone know if you know what you are talking about, I watched Foyle play last year and would strongly fancy my chances based on what I saw then so keep the opinions coming, I will watch and wait to see what happens, would like to know on what basis you think that I am not good enough.And by the way... its Bill & Manus not Bill at Manus lol

Meant to mention Manus as well, he certainly would deserve his place on the team, a very determined bowler who has bags of potential and more than that will give 110% to any team he plays in and is a great squad player, for you to post that last comment was just plain daft and the more I think about it was aimed as a dig at us, again no offence taken by your comments, that is what the forum is all about after all, if as you say I or Manus are not considered good enough then the selectors will not select us, it's as simple as that, so let's wait and see who is selected for the team.

With 8 or 9 new players coming to foyle this. and 4 or 5 debutants last year surely none of those 4 0r 5 will get a place this year if these new boys are as good as they say?

ReplyDeletesome of posts are a joke,yes peter was good with danny,danny made alot of players play.nuala miller was at bowls along time and as soon as she played with danny she won coc and world bowls,johnny moore was same,barr is prime example of it with danny but all these players could play good bowls.danny had great determination as a winner and rubbed of on his partners.peter will prove how good he is and should walk on to foyle team.if i was selector id put danny skip,peter third,barr second and any lead in a rink on foyle team.selectors should get this rink on without doubt
ReplyDeletei agree with the last post danny was the best skip i played with i thing i played my best bowls when he was there he made u feel good that u can play every shot in the book hes a team player aswell.be good for foyle if he will come back and play for foyle again.
ReplyDeletethat was alwats a great thing about danny ward,he was an excellent team player and alwats gave great team support.hear he has no intention of playing zone games so think it is time we moved on and get team sorted,a great talent and a great loss but some of young players we have can replace danny if given the chance
ReplyDeleteFully agree, I was talking to Danny a few nights ago, sorry I missed seeing him play, but his attitude is that of a winner and he instills this in his team mates and brings them along with him, he is, without a doubt, an absolute legend and if for his own reasons he chooses nt to play zone bowls theis year then that indeed is a big loss potentially for Foyle. Good to see you back at the game Danny and hope to be playing against you soon in the league.

was at st finloughs match aganist cricket club tonite,danny was very unlucky to lose first 3 ends @ be 7 nil down.after 3 ends danny was awesome,won 16 shots to 9.he skipped superb and had his rink playing really well.why he wont play zone bowls is a mystery.cricket club got a big scare,up until last few ends match was nip and tuck.danny without doubt is a massive player for st finloughs.barr as usual was great with danny.come on danny get boys on zone team for foyle.

why all the talk,everyone knows danny is foyle through and through.only 1 zone he will ever play for and that is foyle.he done to much in the past for foyle to play for another zone.he would never do what eddie did,traitor ed.would love to see donegal play foyle and danny get eddie,only 1 winner and not the traitor.
