  12. Mid Down are favourites.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You'll see. This is the worst Foyle team ever seen and if Mid Down can play anywhere near their capabilities they will win by 10-15 at least.

    ReplyDelete
  14. "worst Foyle team ever seen" quite a statement, wonder if you are one of the sour grapes gang

  15. Must be.... I notice, once again, that all the slaggers are hiding behind an anoymous profile.. best thing to do is to ignore them, if they can't put their name on posts then who cares what they think...

  16. Whoever thought this is worst foyle team ever must have been out of the country this last few years. What a joke.

  17. HERE'S AN OPEN INVITATION TO ALL THOSE WHO DOUBT IF FOYLE ARE GOOD ENOUGH, COME ALONG TOMORROW AND WATCH AS MID DOWN STRUGGLE TO FIGHT THE TORRENT THAT IS THE MIGHTY FOYLE.

Chief, this is a blog that does not require a name. If you want names go to a forum that provides it and stop mumbling about anons. This is why the blog owner has no name and has not set up a forum that requires names.
    Catch a grip man.
Also how are you ever a 3rd, when you couldnt gain a seat in the north west except their bench.

    Signed
Homer - if that makes you happy.

  20. I love it, in all honesty Bill this is a terrible Foyle team and I for one would love this to be confirmed tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Having been on the team, its not the worst - by no means, however I would have had a few more tweaks on it - but not my concern no more - good luck today, hope foyle can win, and with a bit of luck its not imporssible for them to make the semi's at least this year..
Might even pop in for a while, now that our games off.

    Ed Curran.

  26. Fair play to Eddie, came along and was loudest supporter of Foyle on the day, pity he wasnt playing as it might have been enough to carry us over the line. Bring on the plate and a chance to win a few games.

    ReplyDelete
  27. above post totally true,ed was great support on the day.reminded me alot of danny ward on his days at foyle.we have just lost to many eddies and dannys.cant see us ever being a force again.
poor performance.could be fate that we meet nw in the plate now.would be great atmosphere

    ReplyDelete
  28. It wont happen!

    ReplyDelete
  29. northwest will not get that far

    ReplyDelete
  30. fahy was best player for foyle just a pity he was second

    ReplyDelete
  31. fahy was the fifth best player in his rink, and that is being kind, lot of changes needed if foyle want to do anyrhing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. was fahy there yesterday

    ReplyDelete
  33. agree with comment about fahy being the best player in the foyle team and those of you who think otherwise need to go to specsavers

    ReplyDelete
  34. fahy certainly was there and by what I saw he was the only Foyle player that was there; and I agree that there is a lot of changes to be made if Foyle are going to do anything in the coming years starting with not selecting the North West rejects who couldn't make in their team and players to be picked on merit and not because their buddies are on the selection committee or a few brown envelopes being passed to members of the selection committee. It is corrupt as the FIFA World Cup votes.

    ReplyDelete
  35. shocking remark above, noway would peter or mark put on friends or club mate on just to av on team..peter has done a great job for foyle.johnny i dont know about but convenor must go.we would have had ward, barr, lynch curran, colm that is if june was not convenor.that would have been best rink on paper.

    ReplyDelete
  36. on paper yes, but on saturday at nw, they where poor. i think they enjoy the zone and get on with the majority of players, but they would admit that poor it what they have played in 2 games.

    ReplyDelete
  37. ask Eddie Curran if Fahy was the 5th best player in the rink.

    Mickey Fahy

    ReplyDelete
  38. Micky i hear you played well and eddie will give an honest opinion if anyone wants to ask him.
I played two matches for nw and to be honest i was poor.Saturday past i would say was the wrost performance i ever put in as a skip.
NW selectors put their confidence in me to skip most likely because of league form and i have not repaid them very well.Would say i was worst player on saturday.People say others played bad but no one could have been worse than me.
If selectors dont drop me from atleast skip and i say skip they would need to pay a visit to SPEC SAVERS as i was awful.
I was a selector for foyle for many years and i would have had no hesitation in dropping someone who played as bad as i did. DANNY WARD

    ReplyDelete
  39. What was missing on sat was team spirit, yes the players get on well but in second half we needed a leader on the mats to motivate the 3 games..people talk about ward lynch etc,in 2 games for northwest what have they done.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Micky Fahy was playing super bowls from what I saw on Saturday - close to most things and certainly, whoever said he was 5th best player must be an idiot to make a statement like that.

    Eddie Curran.

    ReplyDelete
  41. who is hiding behind anonymous posts now billy? show your name whenever its suits yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  42. are use trying to say only micky fahy played well for foyle must be more players played well aswell.

    ReplyDelete
  43. from what i seen on sat, what can i say..... aaammm 1st half rinks joe's rink gud win for this rink which looked wake on paper and bill bowling 3???? whats that about?? that wud b may 1st change for foyle!! pats rink this was a shock defeat becasue they had a stange team on paper and the mighty fahy bowling 2 which i beleave is the place for him after the past few years bolwing at 3 and 4!! holdens rink the rink should have been reversed back end was very poor!! NOW THE 2ND HALF! well all i can say is that its alot waker than the 1st half jd and noel looked very nervous for 2nd half, nutt out of hes depth at most 1st half!!! patton what can i say didnt play the last end, lead played very well tho, number 2 wasnt at the races!!

    some times the truth hurts.....

    ReplyDelete
  47. is that a promise, bill

    ReplyDelete
  48. lads we were missing leaders.jd was a nervous wreck, just no experience, mark and peter to nice and quiet.only leader foyle ever really had was danny ward.he led from the front.eddie tried for years but in my opinion we just never replaced players like danny and jas.these were our match winners.as for person who said ward has done nothing for nw,have you not read above message from ward.we need team leaders.

    ReplyDelete
  49. this blog is the some craic very funny whats going on with foyle these days in turmoil by the sounds of it i as a past player have enjoyed success in a foyle team that was near unbeatable think you's should be tring to get back to those days i'll let you into the secret it takes balls determiation and the will to play for each and everyone of your team mates

ps its good to see some of my old team mates / friends making a come back ie danny and colm and co

  50. After just reading the above comments can i firstly just say what a honest guy danny ward is,not many players would admit to having a couple of poor games for the zone..on to our game on sat yes very disappointing result, people can blame whoever they want but i can assure you the selectors try there best,if people want the job step forward next season and dot hide behind comments here.Yes rinks did not preform the rink i was in were lucky to just loose by 2 could have been more,i could not get the feel of mat and missed a few shots, stephen just did not settle either, what we did have was good team spirit, great result from joe a good win.am not going to comment on other players other than to say m fahy has always been a good player for foyle, great team spirit the sort of players foyle need.

Can't see all 7 being dropped probably positional changes if any another problem is that there is nothing in the reserves to bring in.

  54. Anyone who slagged meh Da off on this why don't you grow a set and put your name to the post or better still come and say it to his face and then we'll see how big you all are then. Half the people that have slagged him off is the people he would wipe the floor with.

    JP Fahy

    ReplyDelete
  55. yes totally agree on comment about danny, takes a good person to say what he said.
stevie you reminded me of a younger danny ward, not same ability (no offence meant)but gave it all and like danny, june was never a fan of yours but selectors knew you had what it took to play on zone team.
we need to sit down and take a good look at were it went wrong.make changes were they are needed.if someone is offended that is tough.we must make changes.
young holden is ot a skip(no offence meant)so must drop back in rink.
just dont know were we can get 5 or 6 players,
we never can replace players like danny, jas and eddie.
should now use plate to plan for next year, maybe we will have players like,
    DANNY WARD
    PETER LYNCH
    MICKEY MC GAVIGAN
    COLM CURRAN
    GERRY BARR
    GARY MOORE
    STEVIE MC PHILLIPS
    JAMES CUTHBERT
    ERIC CHRISTIE.
These players all were successful for foyle and if we had certain selector with peter eakin and new convenor we may get some back and start to go forward

    ReplyDelete
  56. unless the zone raises enough of money to pay for flights back from Australia then we won't get Stevie McPhillips

    JP Fahy

    ReplyDelete
  57. Fahy would have more chance off wiping chalk off his bowls and i'm sure thats something he's not used too! Than he would with wiping the floor with people haha funny boy jp ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  58. totally agree with above post need to sit down and look at were it went wrong dont know the answers but sounds like my old friend june might be part of it things never change by the sounds of it lol and you dont want to drive young players away from the game god knows we had enough good young players of times gone by where are they now ????? got to admit every young player would idol themselves on danny who wouldn't but as you said ( whoever you are )like danny june was never a fan of mine could be 1 of the reasons i gave it away ??? i guess its the price you pay for wearing your heart on your shelve
anyway good luck foyle you may need it

    stevie mc phillips

    ReplyDelete
  59. stevie wont put my name to post as i do play on team.the year you played june would have had you off the team if not for danny ward.danny stood up to june which was right thing to do.you were a young player with attitude and danny knew that players like danny and you are what type(note i said type)of players we need back at foyle.goodluck stevie and thanks for atleast still having an intrest in foyle

  63. Better team won on the day,and people should remember this was the foyle's first outing together and will take time for the side to gel.As been a limavady league player myself i can say that from the list made by anonymous a few posts above, giving their current form only one player would deserve a place on the new foyle side and thats danny, others are nowhere near the players they used to be and wouldnt other anything the current foyle players do!

    ReplyDelete
  64. to above post i need to point out 1 thing. everyone but gerard barr can reply to your comment and are capable of doing so.if i was playing for foyle the first player id have on my rink would be gerard.a class act and to be honest i always rated gerard as good as anyone. dont mean to offend you or anyone else.
PS THANKS peter eakin but gota tell it as it is what players should do.no point in hiding if you play crap.spectators and selectors are not blind.DANNY WARD

    ReplyDelete
  65. haha good to see you havent changed danny still telling it as it is probably why you made a good selector 100 percent right about gerard dont know how he playing these days but i know he would still have balls of steel and will to win something some current players may lack???

ps to above post i will always have an intrest and soft spot for foyle will never forget where i came from and the players/friends that put me there

    stevie mc phillips

    ReplyDelete
  66. Some of the comments about past folye players are true, Danny and Gerry would walk onto the team but the rest that are playing would not be first choice with their current form Peter Lynch is getting there and is a bit away from being the player he was Mickey McGavigan would struggle to get on and Colum Curran the same this is just my opinion based on the league form at the moment.
    Just my opinion.

  67. Can someone tell me why all the focus has been put onto those who tried there hardest on saturday this sort of stuff does not help team building.I think that the most of it is from the rugby club zone who are pissing themselves in case they have to play a team capable of beating them.

  68. Manus Doherty had a great game on Saturday for foyle and this was his debut for him at zone level, well done Manus.

hi stevie, nice to see you still take an intrest in the foyle team.when we where playing people did not like us.why can the team just accept that with some of the players they have they are crap.june spoilt any chance of having a better team when she bad mouthed danny.get over it crap side.as fo mj post, get a life.
REMEMBER CLAUDY WITH HALF A TEAM.LOL

    ReplyDelete
  70. Here we go again....bla bla bla "rugby club zone" what a load of bollocks....first of all if we, the north west are to meet foyle it would only be in the final of the shield ..yes people the shield! The two teams are both out of the only comp. that matters. Luckily for us in north west we are in a half of the draw that pips us against two of the more dangerous zones in ireland in mid tyrone and possibly oriel away therefore something to look forward to! should we manage to overcome these large hurdles we would welcome a game against foyle but until that comes around we are not in the slightest bit worried about how foyle are doing! therefore leave the NORTH WEST ZONE out of your petty arguements and think about the people on our team who dont represent the LCRFC!!
If foyle had e few clubs within their zone with the stature and class of such a side as the LCRFC then perhaps their zone would have a better basis on which to build!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I see we have two new zones this year the rugby club zone and the BENVARDIN ZOO ZONE

    ReplyDelete
  78. Richard Kincaid should not be on team,he let the team down last sat,it seams he had better things to do.

    ReplyDelete
  79. how can some fool put a team up on blog and not put micky fahy on.fahy played really well goin by most reports i have of match.i was not at game but spoke to 7players who said micky played well.his skip said micky had good games.
you must have something aganist micky to put him as a sub.heard who was suppose to play bad but i wont slag them of on here.
some players need to read danny wards post and admit they were bad.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Certain amount of truth in last comment, whoever put up the 1st team - I like the look of it all things considered, who ever put up the 2nd team is living in bowling cuckoo-land. Re; Richard Kincaid, hard to throw people to the wayside based on one incident let-down. Re; Fahy, good player and zone servant, deserves to be skipping in my opinion and certainly had a good game v Mid-Down - I saw it.

    Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  81. first team I like the look of as it is well balanced; however I would switch Richard Kincaid and Andrew Whiskers and take Ronnie Donnell out and replace with JP Fahy (no offence Ronnie but I think he is more capable of putting in more consistent performances). I also agree with Eddie about the second team whoever posted that is living in cuckoo land and should retract their closing statement of "this is a better team" because it is clearly not.

    ReplyDelete
  82. J.donnell playing third? going by reports he was very nervous and he was only leading so please explain???

    ReplyDelete
  83. He has won 2 tournaments already this year, n having a good season so why not. I would say he has won more tournaments so far this season than any other foyle player. too many players on there that aren't competitive and are winning nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Its good to see so many people trying to pick the team, should have a full hall next spring with people looking to become selectors. They have a thankless task, cant keep everyone happy.Would never wish to be one, don't know why these guys bother.

100% correct but if a man can handle the pressure with no bowls on the mat what will he be like with a ton against him??? where did he win the two tournaments?

    ReplyDelete
  86. to be honest johnny won 2tournaments,first in his life and good luck to him.sorry but never a third.get ward, lynch and barr back,3 good thirds

    ReplyDelete
  87. Two tournaments are methodist pairs limavady in final game beat ryan o neil and lee harrison, and the triples was maghera pres right in hart of mid ulster final game they beat m wilson

    ReplyDelete
  88. whoopee johnny beat ryan and leigh.im good friend of ryan and no disrespect to ryan and leigh they are beatable like rest of us.play ryan 10 times and see who comes out on top. johnny proved he cant handle the pressure when he led on zone team.zone is different level from tournaments.foyle should look forward to next year if talk is true of exile players coming back.use plate to test team but make sure to stay in plate for experience of team

    ReplyDelete
  89. johnny beat leigh and ryan once, give over

    ReplyDelete
  90. Its nothing to brag about beating ryan just play your game and dont listen and you are there.
I have read the posts about fahy as well he has been a great servant to foyle over the years but to say he was best player in the team last week is nothing but a joke i watched the whole game and looked at all the players at different times and mickey had an average game to be kind, eddie said that he played well but he only saw about 3 ends of that game, not enough to give that sort of praise and forget to mention the other players in the team that day who played better over the 10 ends not just 3. I would be the first to say that Mickey deserves to be on the squad and certainly the starting 24 the selectors should decide where he plays just the same for all.

  94. To the ANGRY FOYLE PLAYER
I have said what i said on what i saw last saturday over 10 ends and to ask me to do what Danny Ward did by posting his name, what is the point, danny was talking about himself, i am not.
I have nothing against anyone on the Foyle team and will remain a suporter but i am sorry that i will not make the next game as it is not easy for me to get off on saturdays but i will stand behind the team and not let people wrongly praise 1 player who had at best an average game and he should come on this blog and do what Danny did and admit it, nothing to be ashamed of telling the truth in fact i would invite all the players from last week to come on and do the same, below is my marks out of 10 for each player

    S HOLDEN 4
    P EAKIN 4

I am an angry supporter because of the far fetched reports put on from earlier i have said that i support the team and i do and i would not make many changes 1 or 2 maybe anyone is entitled to have an off day but they need to know that they fell short and admit it i dont play on any zone team i probably was never good enough at that level but at least i will admit it it is not up to me to sway or encourage the selectors in any way if they feel that change is needed then they should or if not then dont. SIMPLE AS THAT.
FRUSTRATED FOYLE SUPPORTER NO LONGER ANGRY

  100. just you tell me who you are then i mite tell you if you are good enought to play at zone level haha.do you thing the skips should be the same i thing 1 or 2 f them should be playing number 3.

    ReplyDelete
  101. first you say some players very poor and fahy not good.
next you give marks out of ten for every player.
then you say not many changes needed.
TAKE FIRST POINT,players have told me mickey fahy played well, past and present selectors eddie curran and peter eakin say mickey had good game, his skip says mickey played well.
SECOND POINT,you mark every single player out of ten and some very poor marks.i was a selector and sorry impossible to mark every player,if you are able to mark every player you should be a selector without doubt.
THIRD POINT,after very poor marks you say team does not need many changes.if i gave players marks you gave them id want alot of changes.
MY POINT NOW,why dont you have a chat to peter, mark or johnny and try and give them ideas on next match the plate.

    ReplyDelete
  102. MY MAIN POINT

The team did not show any fight i have marked the players only on what i saw you can have your thoughts on that i said last that i would maybe make 1 or 2 changes and i would do just that, you asked about mickey fahy and what his game was like as i said earlier eddie only saw the last 3 ends or so, i saw him come into the hall so that is a narrow opinion, peter eakin was playing at the same time so how could he account for anything only his own rink and as for pat well i doubt if he would say a bad word about anyone after all they all gave 100% on the day and tried there best but as i have said this effort from some was not good enough on the day.

    ReplyDelete
  103. your still contradicting yourself; first of all you say everyone gave 100% then immediately afterwards you say some lacked effort; come on if your going to pass comment then keep it consistent. As for mickey; I can safely say that Eddie was there for more than 3 ends, as a selector you supposed to watch how everyone is playing even when their on at the same time as you and mcsorley wouldn't be afraid to speak his mind. You obviously have something against Mickey Fahy to keep criticising him

    ReplyDelete
  104. To go back to what this is all about, i have nothing against Mickey but i do not like it when 1 person gets singled out for praise in an obvious buddy buddy way when this praise was not earned and others who played far better over the course of the game are forgotten about i think that its about time that the truth is told on this blog and you cant do that without hurting people, hard luck becasue i saw what i saw on the day, and the few ends that eddie saw would give him no idea of how anyone played for the entire game.

  106. if i was the person (angry foyle sopporter) id put my name to post and let people see who you are.then your opinion would really be judged as at the moment people dont know if your a reliable source or just an upset person with foyle zone.i dont beleive you will put your name up as your not willing to be up front.id be trying to give peter, mark and johnny help to select team by being up front.as for mickey fahy,he is a friend of mine i know he would tell you the truth if he was bad.if you have nothing to hide put your name to post

  107. Danny

This site is an anonymous site for the very reason that no name is required. You or others have no rights to state that "put names to post" would mean anything. I think this blog is good as it brings out issues that we have in foyle. Again back stabbers are behind most of the bad comments on here but mostly are for the right intentions, which is to get the best for foyle. If you and your mates came back next year whats not to say you have the same bad games that you say you are have in the nw matches so far. I was at the game and some played like they did in the so called friendly at Claudy simply not good enough for the zone team. Selectors should have the right to pick the best, forget the convenor if a majority rule was in place then we would not have as much need to remove her. I am entitled to my anonymity for fear of not being selected next game. So far nothing learnt in friendly, nothing gained in practice and we are now in the shield. Says it all really.

  108. and you or others have no right to score people's performances

    ReplyDelete
  109. Angry foyle supporter, just for the record, I came in at 3rd end, and stayed for the rest of the 1st run of mats, so my assessment on M.Fahy is based on watching 8 out of 10 ends. So your claim i was there for only 3 ends is quit like your opinion on a lot of things..... pure dung.
Coming claiming people are scoring on buddy-buddy criteria is pure crap, as a previous poster stated, both myself, Peter Eakin, and Mickeys own skip all reckon he played well.. so take off your angry-goggles, put a bit of perspective on it, and maybe you might talk a bit more sense.

    Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Hear hear Eddie, people like this angry guy comes on then slates everybody, runs the team down with individual crap performance scores and then suggests only a few changes needed - what a load of nonsense. People like this are only hurting Foyle and destroying any fragile confidence the team might have.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Danny and Eddie I am not trying to upset anything and i would like to know what makes your opinion as good as gold eddie you are the one who turned his back on foyle and ran away to team up with your new best friend JQ everyone is entitled to there own opinion if you agree or not and it would make no difference if i put my name to my posts as people like you would enjoy trying to tell everyone how little i know at that level so i choose not to do that.

  112. This is why I decided to give this site a wide berth for a while, when the posts are not monitored prior to publishing, then this sort of crap rises to the top.... who cares if you are an angry foyle supporter or not, who cares about your petty scoring or who you think needs changed or why... and i would advise all others to just let it go as these peope are only trying to get a rise from someone.

  114. To the now annoyed foyle supporter.
You are quite right, everyone is entitled to an opinion - no matter of ability - and you are well within your rites to rebuff mines.
Its when you try to rubbish my opinion by telling non truths like I was only there for 3 ends you make a nonsense of your argument.
Also, I am well within my rites to rebuff YOUR opinion as well - you seem to think you have the rite to tell these non-truths, put up comments de-motivating the team, then cry victim by stating "what makes your opinion as good as gold".
Really.... catch a grip of yourself your fingers on the keyboard seem to have lost the run of themselves and disconnected from your Brain... am starting to think it might be Homer's alto ego here LOL....

    Eddie.

  115. Wonder what Flash and Horse thinks of all this eh?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Dont think Eddie owes foyle anything. He gave us near 20 years of solid commitment when a lot of other big players faded away. How many of the current team could say that? He also came along and was our loudest supporter on the day, now hes getting crap from ejits. MW.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Eddie must have played for at least 40 years

    ReplyDelete
  118. Good post Eddie, I can assure you that Homer has no alter ego as you put it, I was only told about all this shit this evening and logged on and had a good old laugh to myself, I hear that we have an away game to Meath in the new year, looking forward to that, if selected that is.

  121. I thought it was great to see him there to support his old team members and to give a bit of support. His game was cancelled and rather than sit at home he came up to support his old team am just sorry we didnt win the game but foyle has had a great influx of players this year as we had 8 or 9 new players. We play meath now in plate and with a few changes we hopefully can get things right. All best eddie in new adventure with donegal, you will be sadly missed at foyle hope family all keeping well this is one of your many friends signing out speak soon

  129. I saw Eddie when he arrived and it was early in the game, he then came over and sat beside where we were playing and got right behind the team trying to get all the players to react to his encouragement, so to say that he did not belong there was a joke and you need to bury your head.

    ReplyDelete
  134. eddie has no need to glory hunt has already represented Ireland as a member of the Foyle Zone team; and for your comment about leaving Brooke Park to glory hunt; again got his U25 Irish cap whilst playing with Brooke Park so moving to 'the port' was to play a better standard of bowls with better players and its more of the same to switch to Donegal

  143. C'mon guys, too much negativity, no personal attacks. Foyle were beat by a better team, we lost as a team. Our performance wasn't good enough, sure there were some individual performances that were below par but these people know themselves without having to be singled out and flamed here. Opinions will always vary. I believe that anyone that came to watch our match was supporting Foyle and I'd like to thank anyone that came along on the day. Our next match is against Meath, let us now look forward to that and hopefully a run in the Plate.

  145. Come on everyone. lets stop the personal attacks and get back to making this a bowls forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and rightly so but lets keep the conversation about the game. On a more positive note.good luck to the Foyle team in the plate away at Meath. Its a relatively new team and needs time to gel so lets all get behind it and support them all we can.

  148. What has A Whisker done to deserve the step up from sub(brought in as a late sub to lead) to 3rd? Why was the outstanding Milky bar kid not given the chance to move up the rink? is there no one from the Junior zone that could even be included in the squad cos the subs bench looks like they need their pipe and slippers and a hot water bottle. Cant see all the squad travelling to Meath and the subs are not good enough to step up, bring on the young guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!
