Lots of rumours that things are all change in the limavady league? Anyone care to elaborate on this apparently the balance of power is about to change is this true? If so surely this is a good thing for their league perhaps the title will move nearer the derry border lol
Hard to say who will win it this year, if the rumours are true then USC will be up there and i think will prob win in the end, they will have a lot of experience of what it takes to win the league and added to that some new players from elsewhere on board too, not a game to be missed their first one. I think LCRFC will still compete if the changes go through but will not be as awesome as in past The saints are trying to build a team and could be a dark horse and will be worth watching under the control of Danny Ward Du Pont, Faughanvale and DCC will always be there or there abouts and i will stick my neck out and say that Du Pont will be the best of these three over the season
I will be surprised if the limavady crfc will be able to win section a this year after the departure of a number of key players. The team that I expect to mount a challenge is the Services club with the influx of new players they have got.
The big problem with the services club this year will be who plays where and whos toes will be stepped on the hardest i think that the club could suffer as a result there is no doubt that they will win most things but at what cost this is only the start of the cancer that will ruin the game for the loyal club members plus i thought some of the new services players were going to play for the saints so what happened there has danny lost his powers to persuade and i have heard that one of their players has left to go to dcc whats next? It will be good to watch this and see how it plays out
just for record,since danny ward has come to northwest bowls there has been i av never seen so much talk about a player.no disrespect to danny but he is not god,an outstanding player yes indeed.as for danny being in control of the saints thats not true,charlie mc devitt is still at the helm for the saints and jim kelly vice captain.danny i beleive will help charlie and jim.as for who will win the league i beleive the saints will win it as i hear mr ward has been busy in the tranfer market.will be a very intresting league.

in my honest opinion i beleive players should play for who they want.if players leave rugby club so be it. as for danny ward losing his power,that is a joke of a statement.danny does not have power over players. as for st finloughs losing a player,concerned player being nigel craig,craig had left st finloughs last season so has noting to do with this season.i saw some of craigs games last season and he was very disrespectful to his player,he also made zone team and my own opinion he can talk the talk but just cant walk the walk. i think dupont will win the league
To the angry limavady player i agree with what your saying about mass exodus from one club to the other but you mention the rule limiting non limavady players! what has this got to to with the mass exodus and the so-called impact on the league? Surely the move of such players only weakens the rugby club therefore opening up the league to perhaps 4 or 5 clubs if all the rumours of movement are to be true, wouldnt you agree?

Dupont chances are good but any respected foyle player should not play for them after the farce of the meeting. It was very disrespectful to foyle players a certain long standing member needs to get with the times its a club not a dictatorship
I will be the first to say that I really dont care who goes where and why, all i care about is who will be playing for Du Pont this year and we will have the same team as last year, the whole debate going on about mass exodos is an absolute non-sense why should it matter to me or anyone else who has decided to play with a different club. The comment about 1 of our members is out of order too and moreso if the person who says it is not amongst our panel, what would you know what was said at our meeting, i know that i have spoken to a few people about the meeting but do you really think that i would divulge everything to all, not a chance, the most important parts of the meeting have been kept under wraps and I will tell you this, Du Pont will be out this year to compete as we always do, someone else has the job of selecting this year, i will be taking a back seat. Looking forward to the zone campain this year, not an easy first game for us but lets hope that the exploits of last year will have brought the whole team on and that we can push on from there.

Beatie Patton and McSorley will be joining Oniel,Harrison,Logue,Devine and Allen at Services, rumour has it that Steele will be teaming up as well, out goes Clancy and the two Donnells, elsewhere Craig away to Dcc and McCrossan pulling the plug on league bowls, Moore and McCarron and Deeney to the Saints and Ward not happy with some events
Why is everyone picking on Nigel Craig ? Would it be that he shows no respect to anyone at all and his ego is well beyond his skills or is it that he just bad mouths all the time or could it be that he is worried that he will be put in his place this year again by the true boss of his former club and is he aware that now he has seperated himself from Danny that his chsnces of getting back into the zone team is not just thin it is annorexic. Apart from this there is no reason at all.
Nigel Craig will probably not be a Saints player next season but it will not have anything to do with his bowling ability or attitude towards players on the mat.Nigel was vice captain last term and the role was simply taken over with the best interest of the club to get promotion.Communication in the club last year broke down a little and there was fault on both sides to a degree.I've had conversations with Nigel and told him that he handled the situation badly in the final games of the season but I can see a point when he was vice captain and wasn't involved. But you have to speak out if you feel aggrieved and not let it fester, Danny Ward will do nothin half harted,hes by nature a winner and he puts every fiber of his winning character into it.Its how he is and will not change.But hes also very approachable as is charlie and thats were Nigel came up short, he said nothin.If he bad mouthed ward, then shame on him cos ward was his biggist fan last year, but I have to say he never said anything in front of me.Will St Finloughs miss him?.When hes pulling in the same direction as everyone else at the club hes excellent and make no mistake an asstet to the club. When hes not he can disrupt the team spirit and can throw the head.Nigal can have a suspect attitude but thats not always a bad thing.He wants to win and it can work for him..but he can also self destuct at times. spoke to danny ward at du pont last wednesday nite,danny would loved to have seen nigel stay at st finloughs but nigel told danny he is playing for dcc and danny was disapointed.danny went to the saints because of colum curran who was pushed by men like nigel to get danny to sign last year.danny was asked to stay for another year and felt he owed it to certain people at st finloughs,mainly charlie mc devitt,jimmy mackie,jim kelly,seamus o connor. ward never knew these people very well before last year but felt he could not walk away so easy.nigel craig is still a saints player until he plays for anyone else.i personally would like to see him stay but dont think he has the balls to stay.
Logue will follow the leader and play for services they will win that section easy this year as there is nothing to stop them faughanvale will be runners up and drummond third the mid table will be made up from rugby club du pont and finloughs
i would like to think im a decenf friend to both ryan and nishy.i hope these 2 guys still play their nationals and tournaments together. they have had a very successful partnership and really be sad to see them not playing together. im sure the two of them are big enough to over come all the shit that is said on here.everyone knows who nishy and ryan are playing for this year,well anyone with a brain knows. before anyone starts to moan,ryan and nishy played rinks with 2 other players and you cant win without them but it is ryan and nishy we are talking about so no disrespect meant to any other partners they played with.

Without Foyle a lot of the teams would not compete and going by the final between Foyle and North West there is very little difference in the 2 teams if the Foyle selectors would spend a bit of time and look at what the have available for selection and more importantly where to play these people, if that could be focused on and changed then the team could be very strong. This is not to say that the selectors are doing a bad job but i feel that it has just got to the point when names go onto a sheet and the magic is expected to happen, that will not cut it, just need a bit of thought and we could be the team we all want to be, this is why we need some ideas on here to give the selectors something to think about and not just slagging but observatioins, the selectors have a thankless job and they need all our support.So lets have your ideas of how you would change the team and who you would either bring in or have included in the squad, the most important thing needed is for people to have to play for their shirt and not just demend it, if you have people of the same ability snapping at your heels to play then you either shit or get off the pot.

I didn't see much of a problem between danny ward and nigel craig last night in du pont as they sat together most of the night with colm curran and gerard barr it looked like a happy st finloughs reunion.From what i could see last night they were gettin on well and i wouldnt be surprised if craig was still plyin his trade there next year as him and colm curran have be come good friends since they both joined the ballykelly club and ward is a big fan of craig paddy power has it at even money craig will be with saints
to anon 24th aug 10.22 a great deal of what you say is true.one thing stands out a mile in foyle team,we dont have a leader,a player who encourages the team and fears no one.since danny ward left foyle or should i say quit bowls we have never replaced that type of player.eddie curran was good and tried hard to push foyle forward but danny ward was in a class of his own for foyle. why do the selectors not approach ward and ask him to join the selectors and give the vast experience he has,his good friend peter eakin thinks alot of ward and im sure he could persuade him to help. ward went to northwest last year and to be honest every foyle player knew what we lost.since he went to northwest he has been an instant hit and straight away becomes a winner again. hurts me to say it but it guts me to see ward play for northwest but was even more gutted to see him play aganist us in shield final. please foyle committee change things this year as we need men who want to win and fear no one
USC frontends still too weak to help backenders lift the title.Faughanvale might of lost mark beattie and pj mccrossan off to play in the mid-ulster league but both players missed more than a few games last year,so with all the other vale players returning and maybe another returning this season you gotta fancy them to go one better this year and lift the title with dcc and du pont running usc close for 2nd.Derramore and balteagh to go straight down,massive pressure on brian rankin to help derramore as he is their best and lets be honest only real good player they have.Balteagh a far tighter unit but think they will struggle.
i hear st finloughs has got a few new players,if true they will go close. hear they have best in the northwest and best in foyle both playing at st finloughs this year.any truth in the matter

in all honesty we do not have a player of danny wards quality anymore but we are getting closer as a unit and only be a matter of time before we have more than one danny ward in our team. how sad is it for northwest that they had 24 players on the team against foyle and only player mentioned in paper report (irish news) was an x foyle player. we have dermott mc carron and mark beattie who are in a different league to northwest players

Please respect other Zones, Clubs and individual bowlers. Attacks on Individuals, Clubs, or people will not be tolerated. Banter is encouraged at this creates competitiveness but recently some comments have crossed the line and have had to be removed.
We have gone wrong by letting this get to us as a unit, to say that John Kennedy was the best bar no one is a joke, has anyone asked THE BEST IN THE NORTH WEST how he did against the old man on the day, also to say that we were destroyed in the final, we won 2 and drew 1 NW won3 and drew 1, hardly a walkover and against a very new Foyle team, i hold nothing against anyone from the NW team as i have a lot of friends and this back bitting is sad to read, both teams should be proud to have reached the final so lets drop the nonesense
Fair play to the person behind the last comment. There is too many critics about and personal attacks it's an amateur sport these people put in the hours of practice and playing competitions for the pure enjoyment and not material gain. I have great respect for these people and the commitment they give to their sport.

Danny says he'll give it one more year - he's only kidding himself, he loves it in NW, and with his best mate Ice-Cool-Niggles staying at St Finloughs added to some new and exciting signings (from yesteryear of Foyle)he's only locked in even more. Daft statement as usual from the foyle. Above quote Dupont will have no say in the matter as the team in blue will be selected by the nw committee. If some of them feel the need to return to nw its a bit late as the move to foyle only meant they could play more zone bowls that they may never again got in the nw.

Y do we need to include nw issues on our site, they have been nothing but negative about our zone and take every chance to stick the knife in to us, who cares on this site if du pont will or wont have a say on nw, i say that they wont as we all know how that team is picked and if the handfull of players that defected last year want to go back then let them go if they want to, i would rather they played for us for the right reasons and that they want to b here and i think they do so just keep it Foyle on here, to answer an earlier question, I think who should or should not be on the team this year should b firmly left in the capable hands of the selectors, unlike elsewhere, and not discussed on an open forum such as this, again unlike elsewhere, and this will avoid embarrassment to the individuals involved, so keep it here and keep it FOYLE
I have to laugh at the above post talking about keep it foyle when you are on the other fourms and blogs and take info from them. If this blog was to be foyle only and have a registered users only YOU would not have the b**ls to write anything like you did. you'd sh ite yourself to be found with an opinion. Foyle need the North west banter as you have nothing, i repeat nothing only for Mark winning comps as not many if any others from foyle as you say are good enough to win. Back to the same old thing that went on the whole of last season:why dont we ask mr foyle back boring boring boring.He's made his decision let him go we dont need him, we made huge strides last year the team has really progressed from where it was a couple of years ago. There's real comeradory within our ranks now so lets just keep it going and build for the future. We may not be able to win the boomer just yet but lets build on last years performances and who knows? with victory comes momentum and that can overcome a lot.Forget the past concentrate on the future.Lets put foyle back on the bowling map.The north west band wagon stops here

My post is not to stir or illicit a response it is just to have my say an a subject close to my heart, FOYLE ZONE, i am allowed to have my thoughts and post them just the same as others do on this forum and it is not my intention to cause offence neither but if it does then its true that the truth hurts, as for the last post prending to be Nigel Craig, try to act your age and put your real name to the post, Nigel always puts his on and I will do the same at the end of this.
Is it true that some of the Foyle zone have now registered for more than 1 team in the Limavady and district league, does crossing the Roe Bridge constitute a different league....Seems a lot of Foyle drop ins are mixed up on the teams they want to play for...

unlike you im not afraid to put my name to my post. poor performace by st finloughs lastnite. myself included was poor,9 players wer not good. without doubt rose deeney was best player on the nite,colm curran,micky fahy and nishy logue played well. as everyone knows im not a great fan of john louden as he is anti foyle but gota give him credit as his team got of to a great start. kieran logan was outstanding for du pont. if anyone asked martn mc cann i told him id go for a 5-1 victory to du pont. next game will tell how st finloughs will do in the league.

The above person either cant see that if you take out the Limavady comments Mark might as well close the site down as there is nothing to talk about from Foyle.
How will i know if it effects you as no name for the post credited to you. So are you good enough to play in foyle team but not good enough to enjoy the banter that comes about from Limavady,OR are you just not good enough full stop and not asked to play in Limavady????? ReplyDeleteHard to say who will win it this year, if the rumours are true then USC will be up there and i think will prob win in the end, they will have a lot of experience of what it takes to win the league and added to that some new players from elsewhere on board too, not a game to be missed their first one.

The saints are trying to build a team and could be a dark horse and will be worth watching under the control of Danny Ward
Du Pont, Faughanvale and DCC will always be there or there abouts and i will stick my neck out and say that Du Pont will be the best of these three over the season
I will be surprised if the limavady crfc will be able to win section a this year after the departure of a number of key players.
ReplyDeleteThe team that I expect to mount a challenge is the Services club with the influx of new players they have got.
The big problem with the services club this year will be who plays where and whos toes will be stepped on the hardest i think that the club could suffer as a result there is no doubt that they will win most things but at what cost this is only the start of the cancer that will ruin the game for the loyal club members plus i thought some of the new services players were going to play for the saints so what happened there has danny lost his powers to persuade and i have heard that one of their players has left to go to dcc whats next? It will be good to watch this and see how it plays out
ReplyDeletejust for record,since danny ward has come to northwest bowls there has been i av never seen so much talk about a player.no disrespect to danny but he is not god,an outstanding player yes indeed.as for danny being in control of the saints thats not true,charlie mc devitt is still at the helm for the saints and jim kelly vice captain.danny i beleive will help charlie and jim.as for who will win the league i beleive the saints will win it as i hear mr ward has been busy in the tranfer market.will be a very intresting league.

To the angry limavady player i agree with what your saying about mass exodus from one club to the other but you mention the rule limiting non limavady players! what has this got to to with the mass exodus and the so-called impact on the league? Surely the move of such players only weakens the rugby club therefore opening up the league to perhaps 4 or 5 clubs if all the rumours of movement are to be true, wouldnt you agree?

I will be the first to say that I really dont care who goes where and why, all i care about is who will be playing for Du Pont this year and we will have the same team as last year, the whole debate going on about mass exodos is an absolute non-sense why should it matter to me or anyone else who has decided to play with a different club.
ReplyDeleteThe comment about 1 of our members is out of order too and moreso if the person who says it is not amongst our panel, what would you know what was said at our meeting, i know that i have spoken to a few people about the meeting but do you really think that i would divulge everything to all, not a chance, the most important parts of the meeting have been kept under wraps and I will tell you this, Du Pont will be out this year to compete as we always do, someone else has the job of selecting this year, i will be taking a back seat.
Looking forward to the zone campain this year, not an easy first game for us but lets hope that the exploits of last year will have brought the whole team on and that we can push on from there.

Would it be that he shows no respect to anyone at all and his ego is well beyond his skills or is it that he just bad mouths all the time or could it be that he is worried that he will be put in his place this year again by the true boss of his former club and is he aware that now he has seperated himself from Danny that his chsnces of getting back into the zone team is not just thin it is annorexic. ReplyDeleteNigel Craig will probably not be a Saints player next season but it will not have anything to do with his bowling ability or attitude towards players on the mat.Nigel was vice captain last term and the role was simply taken over with the best interest of the club to get promotion.Communication in the club last year broke down a little and there was fault on both sides to a degree.I've had conversations with Nigel and told him that he handled the situation badly in the final games of the season but I can see a point when he was vice captain and wasn't involved. But you have to speak out if you feel aggrieved and not let it fester, Danny Ward will do nothin half harted,hes by nature a winner and he puts every fiber of his winning character into it.Its how he is and will not change.But hes also very approachable as is charlie and thats were Nigel came up short, he said nothin.If he bad mouthed ward, then shame on him cos ward was his biggist fan last year, but I have to say he never said anything in front of me.Will St Finloughs miss him?.When hes pulling in the same direction as everyone else at the club hes excellent and make no mistake an asstet to the club. ReplyDeleteWithout Foyle a lot of the teams would not compete and going by the final between Foyle and North West there is very little difference in the 2 teams if the Foyle selectors would spend a bit of time and look at what the have available for selection and more importantly where to play these people, if that could be focused on and changed then the team could be very strong. This is not to say that the selectors are doing a bad job but i feel that it has just got to the point when names go onto a sheet and the magic is expected to happen, that will not cut it, just need a bit of thought and we could be the team we all want to be, this is why we need some ideas on here to give the selectors something to think about and not just slagging but observatioins, the selectors have a thankless job and they need all our support.So lets have your ideas of how you would change the team and who you would either bring in or have included in the squad, the most important thing needed is for people to have to play for their shirt and not just demend it, if you have people of the same ability snapping at your heels to play then you either shit or get off the pot.

I didn't see much of a problem between danny ward and nigel craig last night in du pont as they sat together most of the night with colm curran and gerard barr it looked like a happy st finloughs reunion.From what i could see last night they were gettin on well and i wouldnt be surprised if craig was still plyin his trade there next year as him and colm curran have be come good friends since they both joined the ballykelly club and ward is a big fan of craig paddy power has it at even money craig will be with saints

ReplyDeletea great deal of what you say is true.one thing stands out a mile in foyle team,we dont have a leader,a player who encourages the team and fears no one.since danny ward left foyle or should i say quit bowls we have never replaced that type of player.eddie curran was good and tried hard to push foyle forward but danny ward was in a class of his own for foyle.
why do the selectors not approach ward and ask him to join the selectors and give the vast experience he has,his good friend peter eakin thinks alot of ward and im sure he could persuade him to help.
ward went to northwest last year and to be honest every foyle player knew what we lost.since he went to northwest he has been an instant hit and straight away becomes a winner again.
hurts me to say it but it guts me to see ward play for northwest but was even more gutted to see him play aganist us in shield final.

USC frontends still too weak to help backenders lift the title.Faughanvale might of lost mark beattie and pj mccrossan off to play in the mid-ulster league but both players missed more than a few games last year,so with all the other vale players returning and maybe another returning this season you gotta fancy them to go one better this year and lift the title with dcc and du pont running usc close for 2nd.Derramore and balteagh to go straight down,massive pressure on brian rankin to help derramore as he is their best and lets be honest only real good player they have.Balteagh a far tighter unit but think they will struggle.

Above quote Dupont will have no say in the matter as the team in blue will be selected by the nw committee. If some of them feel the need to return to nw its a bit late as the move to foyle only meant they could play more zone bowls that they may never again got in the nw.

Is it true that some of the Foyle zone have now registered for more than 1 team in the Limavady and district league, does crossing the Roe Bridge constitute a different league....Seems a lot of Foyle drop ins are mixed up on the teams they want to play for...
ReplyDeleteYou can register for as many as you like, but only play one at a time. All players are welcome in the Limavady league.

myself included was poor,9 players wer not good.
without doubt rose deeney was best player on the nite,colm curran,micky fahy and nishy logue played well.
as everyone knows im not a great fan of john louden as he is anti foyle but gota give him credit as his team got of to a great start.
kieran logan was outstanding for du pont.
if anyone asked martn mc cann i told him id go for a 5-1 victory to du pont.
next game will tell how st finloughs will do in the league.

How will i know if it effects you as no name for the post credited to you. So are you good enough to play in foyle team but not good enough to enjoy the banter that comes about from Limavady,OR are you just not good enough full stop and not asked to play in Limavady?????
