In the 2nd round Foyle lost by 13 shots.
Congratulations to Mid Ulter on their win, which was 25 shots overall, with the real winner on the day being the Charity. Also a special mention to the food on the day which was excellent.
Foyle gave debuts to 4 young men and they did not disappoint, all 4 grabbed their opportunity and played very well and will provide the selectors with some tough decisions.
The team played well and should be kept the same for the zone game
ReplyDeleteyeah like they will take advice from mr anonymous
ReplyDeletewhen will the teams be picked?
ReplyDeleteWho really cares when team is picked cos we all know that if your face does not fit then you will not be selected by June or her yes men. All the Foyle Zone is good for is making up the numbers in the Limavady + dISTRICT League. The results show how far off we are as a zone and until we get the old brigade back we will never compete. Bring back Ward and Co asap.........
ReplyDeleteEx-Foyle Player.
Well said Ward want-a-be Peter Lynch.
ReplyDeleteI wonder which league these legends are playing in at the moment ,catch a grip we all know who you are and why you are doing it..... Jealousy
ReplyDeleteA Current Foyle Player
We are not playing in the Waterside Churches League or any league in Foyle cos you wannabe's want to keep June sweet and not allow city slickers to walk all over you.....
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a proper league in foyle that includes all be. Am not sure how many "city" clubs have enough members to field teams.
ReplyDeleteGood to see some new faces getting a chance on the zone team. Healthy competition can only benefit the team. Well done to everyone involved. Played well against a very strong team. Special mention to the Brittons rink who looked very solid and also young Jp who Played well at lead.
ReplyDeletejp is a one game wonder, will only turn up if he feels like it...not a team player. Many city teams could field teams in the league if they were allowed.....
ReplyDeleteto the plonker who accused me of posting a post above, nothing to do with me,come say to my face.
ReplyDeletedanny ward.
I just love the multi face plonkers from NW who continually post on this site in a feeble atempt to upset, JP has always played with fire and vigor and is 100% commited to Foyle if only the person who posted would do the same instead of letting friends down by running away from a challenge to hide behind the faceless, you know who u r
ReplyDeletejp is a very good up an coming young player.foyle need young players like jp an jus for record jp is a better bowler than his dad.
ReplyDeletedanny ward
In Foyle we have almost all the pieces in place and the rest will follow soon no doubt about that and we can proudly say that all the people playing for us are happy to play and are not being held by a stupid rule set up by those who say they welcome healthy competition but when the chips are down they do what they do best run away and tell the teacher that the big boys are ganging up on them, so teacher stops it by giving a smack on the wrist at Foyle we dont need that now and never have we will be the team that they all want to be on and when the time comes lets see how quickly the rules change to help the criers.
ReplyDeleteFoyle Stalwart
to above post, how stupid can you be.you must be on drugs.until we get players like danny ward, james mc carron, colm curran, charlie garnham
ReplyDeletepetr lynch, gerry barr back we are just making up numbers.
To the above post, you need to stop living in the late 90's. You don't look back you move forward, those players while good in their day are no longer the players they were. Currently I could only see maybe 2 of those players named getting into the team
ReplyDeleteLynch Barr and Ward would be on the team no probs but Curran is as far out as Kate Louge and is in over his head but bring them all back ad competition is what is needed we have too many automatic selections right now
ReplyDeleteWho are the automatic selections? I hate the jealous people who post pure dung here just to annoy people there are no automatic selections on our current team unless you mean that they are selected automatically because they are the best at the time.
ReplyDeletewas playing for faughanvale lastnite aganist st finloughs.to the guys from foyle who come on here and say we dont need players like ward, lynch, barr and curran back is a joke.at half timewith lee britton beating colm curran 10 shots to 5 and stephen holdens loss to micky fahy 12 shots to 8 it was 1 point each and 1 shot in the overall to the vale.
ReplyDeletesecond half saw malcolm play danny ward and lynn play peter lynch.lynn got 2 shots in the first end but after that lynch run out an easy winner 12 shots to 10.malcolm was a different story, ward took a 4 shot lead in the second end but in the third end ward was laying 3 shots and took malcolm out to lay 6.10 nil after 3 ends games over.ward won 15 shots to 5.
ward is best skip ive ever seen and again proved it lastnite.
we need these players big time and i hope they come back to us asap.
The last post is bang on the money with there remarks about Ward Barr and Lynch and if they take the time to read before they comment they will see that I praised these 3 players in my post but said that it was Curran who would struggle to get his place.
ReplyDeletejus wana say totally agree we do need these players back, thing is we dont and have to do without.jp fahy and gary moore big help to team so lets get goin with wat we have.danny, peter and gerry will be back next year as they are entered in nationals this year
ReplyDeletecolm curran woud make it easy on the foyle team.
ReplyDeletesuch rubbish on foyle team.some players could not just handle pressure in shield final
colm curran would not make it on the foyle zone team am sorry but hes not good enuf, i agree with the other three danny, peter and gerry will help the foyle zone next year. but enuf is enuf now let the rest get on with it now....
ReplyDeletemuppets,y not put ur name to posts and lets see how good u r.u name colm curran as not being good enough, lets c how good u r
ReplyDeletegood to see a heap of young blokes getting their chance to shine but we should still respect the not so young blokes who have been there and won it ie the foyle team of the late 90s which some people on here reckon are not good enough, that may or not be the case but still credit were credit is due for probably the best ever foyle team.
ReplyDeletewithout doubt that was best team we ever had an to be honest will be years before we get close to that again.juniors are the only hope of coming through to mens team.we just lost too many good players.
ReplyDeleteDid we not have the same team the year before and the year after and what did we win then? I was lucky enough to be involved in that great team but ttime and tide waits for no man, the game has moved on and so has the team, yes it will be hard to top that team but we can try surely
ReplyDeleteAny views on the Zone team listed on the Foyle website ?
ReplyDeleteThe question is why did we loose so many good players did they jump or were they pushed? 100 percent agree that juniors are the way forward in any sport but we had juniors back then were are they now???
ReplyDeletewe need a good foundation for the zone team, much as i dont like saying it we had one of the best players foyle ever had at the helm that year we won the boomer.i played in that final and again he was outstanding.im sure everyone knows he was the only person in our team who could do wat he did to edmin irwin that day.
ReplyDeletepeter eakin, mark beattie, trevor brittain and johnny donnell dont really have a clue compared to selectors that year and that is not meant to offend them.the balance of the team is not right.sorry but johnny donnell wont make it as a third.jp fahy is wasted at lead, gary moore should be second.why can selectors not see these things.malcolm thonpson should never have been dropped,it could av been easy sorted wit mal.we just dont have a selector or selectors with man management skills like a certain past selector.
we now have a practice game game lets study it carefully and even ask peter eakin to get the person we know as the best selector we ever had to come along an give his help or opinion on the team an get it right before we play mid tyrone
Why is Malcolm not on list, is it his back or what
ReplyDeleteAP finished heard he had a real stinker in drumfries also
