If that is who i think it is at the top then he should not be there as he plays with other players from another club and zone and if you are going to use the old plays nationals in foyle chestnut then you have to ask how well did he do is the nationals, the time has come to stop this farce,if you cant play with someone from your own club and zone then your progress should be void in this competition, why? Well if he does win a comp with his current choice of partner(s) and goes to COC,I guarantee you he will not be entered under Foyle Zone, there are a few others who bend this as well and they too need to be looked at, lets have the rules changed for the start of the new year, if its good enough for one then its good enough for all, getting carried through tournaments is hardly worth bragging about and then being glorified on the likes of this, it is a good idea to have this up and running and can only promote Foyle Bowls but rules need to be sorted and boundaries set. Fair play to johnny the boy's showing a bit of ambition and its quite obvious to see that over the last few years playing with better players makes you a better player! johnnny skipped the pair on sat night and took them to the final so its fair to say no-one is carrying him! He is a foyle player playing in the foyle tournaments therefore he's quite entitled to gain the points he has. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JOHNNY its obviously benefitting you and will benefit foyle in the long run!
How will it benefit foyle? I have asked the question that if he wins a tournament with his current partner and goes to COC with them it will be under Cookstown and that us not in any way doung foyle any good if he is good enough then let him play a local comp with the people he used to play with and see how far he gets, i dont see how piggy backing the best players is using guile, cunning, yes, craft, certainly but guile no, he will gain a lot of experience but what good is that if you fail to apply it, if it was just now and again i would let it go but he has turned hus back on his team nates, i would like to point out that i think johnny is a nice lad and very dedicated but needs a shot of reality
Playing with better players will make you a better player, learning how to win, learning to read heads, choosing the correct shots and at the correct time so if this is benefitting johnny it will benefit foyle as he is a foyle player simples! johnny is not abandoning anyone he is just showing a bit of ambition maybe if a few others within the zone showed as much ambition they would go places
No doubt about his ambition but i am addressing the question about how this benefits foyle bowls, i will stick by what i have said earlier, his ambition is great but his focus is blurry, yes big players can teach you a lot by watching but there is no such thing as the right or wrong thing to do there are always risks and the mark of a bowler is their ability to accept this and go with it when it goes wrong there is no right ir wring time to play any shot as circumstances differ from end to end and from game to game and from player to player, these attributes cant be taught, they are either there within you or not
Well done Johnny you play with whoever you want to play with every body else does just some people are jealous through and through and when they meet you on the street they are as white as snow to your face

Danny Ward will not be at Ballymoney because Barr cant go so that answers that one but he may play with someone else maybe he will play with Peter Lynch they played zone together and played well together
Someone jealous of Johnny it seems.Whats wrong with a lad wanting to raise his game and play with better players,he is dedicated and sporting and guys like this are the decent guys in bowls.The idiots writiong shite about him probably are washed up players whom none of the big players would play with.Enjoy yourself Johnny and screw the people who knock you simply out of jealousy.They are most likely sad lonely bowlers who career was at its peak when we went to school in our bare feet or simpy some young upstart who will in time that theres more than one way to skin a cat.Happy christmas to all!!!
