why is mcsorley playing at number 2 that is a big shock he has been on the team a long time and is just being past over and to look at some of the back end players it just makes you wonder what went on at the meeting
i think people need to stop crying and let the selectors do there job or else there no point having them. You cant please everyone i think its time people stopped crying and started supporting each other. Come on Foyle
Mark I suggest you remove this as it is causing some crape! Whoever started this is sad and you don't play on zone so you shouldn't be on this forum writing crape
the only problem i see is that some boys think there better than what they are and there wee friends are to scared to tell them!!! step out of your bubble
Is there a rule saying you can't play with somebody from another club?
what you on about? We need better players that what is on the sheet above. So more NW players have to leave there club. I heard Victor is on his way next year, not really good enough and doesnt add strength to the front end, certainly not a bac end player.
I think a team in the waterside have told the members that as a club rule they must enter tournaments only with members of the same club, if this is the case then the people should simply get the other person from the other club to enter in their name and then play with them or even easier just walk away from that club, no club can stop you from playing with who you like in an open tournament, the clue is in the title, open tournament, that is what is wrong with this game right now, too many ye shalt not mongers.
If your going to mouth about clubs put your name to your posts. This thread is about the zone match so if uses want talk it should be about the match in cork
first view of the new Foyle team and my first reaction would be shock. From the last couple of years i think some changes had to be made but what has been done is just to rip up what we know and start with a fresh canvas, for one i think it is a massive risk and although i hope it works i will say what the rest are saying, it looks very unlikely but there is a lot of youth in the team and a fair bit of experience mixed in as well but will the combinations work given that all the rinks are different and a lot of learning needs to be done and is a zone game the right place to do this? Answers on a post card. I think the time has come for the selectors to change and let the men pick the men and the women pick the women, this is the only way forward, i do hope that the men can pull off a win on Saturday but it could be a long silent trip home if it goes wrong and the blame will lie firmly at the feet of the selectors, Ronnie has been a brave man to step up and take on what is a thankless job because no matter what you do it will be viewed as wrong by some so the only advice i can offer him is to be strong and stick to his guns, have a long term plan and stick to it but mostly be strong. If we carry on with the current set up then we all need to put a bit of thought into who we put forward into a position, i have not been able to get to any of the last 3 or 4 AGM so i dont know what the vibe or mood was but i will make it my business to be at the next one, even though i do not play in the zone it still is up to the likes of myself to insure that the correct people are in place to move the zone forward, too often names are just being thrown forward to get it done and move on, i ask each one of you to put a bit of thought into it and bring forward your suggestions at the AGM, it is the only way to get your voice heard, some people are just to comfortable showing up and going with the flow, change things, make it happen or suffer the consequences. This is not a pop at the team or the selectors, it is just how i see things and no matter what happens i will remain a supporter.
Its nice to see the youth on the team and that is the answer to the earlier long winded comment, we need the younger ones on the team to give them a chance that is what other zones do and it works, the older sorry, experienced, players need to let this happen, they are what we rely on now maybe but the young ones are the future of the team
Good luck to the foyle team in Cork, And dont listen to all the moaners, everyone on the team looks capable enough to me, and if they play to their potential, it should be a good match . I hear the team are travelling up and down in one day, that's a bit of a journey to say the least, should have stayed overnight
How did the new style team perform yesterday, cork are not the hardest team to beat so what was the ballance like in the team if someone who saw it would give an honest answer
There will need to be more than 1 or 2 changes in the team because you will be up against it in your bext game and you need to have your best team listed and playing, good luck to you from the noisy neighbours in NW
Bobby donnell should be off. Peter lynch will hopefully be able to play next game (3) to dermott leaving mcsorley his 2 and patsy his lead. If peter not available play mark doherty or antony duffy. Just an opinion!
I would loose 2 of the leads, one of the seconds and 1 of the thirds. The leads are not good enough to be on the team and the second played like he needs a kick start and the third was out of his depth at this level of bowls there is no point in mentioning names because the people know who they are
Anthony Duffy should never be asked to play again as he just keeps letting the team down by not going, maybe things will change with a home game but he should be ignored and left out in the cold, what happened to Lynch
As not to many spectators went to cork it is obviously players giving your view on team mates why not be big enough to name yourselves maybe they might have a view on how you played. There were not to many players looking to go to cork so why should they be brought back into team just because we are at home.
Actually the 3rds had very good games they should keep their places. As for leads ryan nixon n stuart donnell def justified place. Not sure which 2nd you would change?? If u were at the match you would actually no that few people were switched round positions so unless you seen the match you can't judge
You are right about seeing the game and i was not there to see it but i still got the full rundown of who did what and who did not and by what i was told then at least 2 of the thirds could be under threat and the reason i was given was that they played in rinks that won but they were just passengers and played 1 or 2 bowls in the game, i will agree that the 2 young leads played well and was told that they more than deserve there place, Stuart has done it before and came up to the mark and now Ryan is doing the same, well done lads but the main thing to remember is that the team and the selectors need to have a good talk about how to move on from this game it is not just as simple as saying same again there are people knocking on the door of the team the like of Peter Eakin who will come straight back onto the team,Peter Lynch if he is ready to play, some say that he is just messing, we will see, Anthony Duffy, Malcolm Thompson, Mickey and John Paul Fahy, all these players are sitting waiting to be called in and should be on the team but that is a decision for the selectors, good luck to them, and i will also agree with the post that the next game will be different, the team needs to be ballanced and be able to answer the questions that will be asked, if i was to judge on the names on the sheet that went to Cork, in the positions they played then i will say that this again will be an early bath for Foyle
That is a job for the selectors not for me i just say what i see or am told and as i did not see the game i go by what i am told but i will be at the home game and will give an honest review of that game and will name each player one by obe and tell you all how they play is that good enough but if you want to name the team then go ahead i look forward to it
I would pick.Rink 1 neil, kyle, trevor, joe. Rink 2 ryan, bill, noel, lorenzo rink 3 stuart, peter eakin, ronnie, jimmy rink 4 simon, mcsorley, jonny, beattie rink 5 manus, kincaid, peter lynch, dermott rink 6 patsy, mcconomy, lee & terance. Just an opinion! Who were the number 3s that didn't do well?
Good selection and one that would be worth putting forward but i dont think it would go through as it is not strong enough in places for me but everyone has there own idea of how to set out a team the thirds that did not perform well was told to me so as i dis not see it i wont comment but they know who they are as they both said so after the game apparently but would be surprised if mcsorley looses his place he should not have been moved to start with
McConomy wont play for foyle after how he was treated before si forget that, moore should keep his place bobby is not good enough and until we hear why lynch cried iff, he should not be back either, manus is on the verge of being dropped, noel donnell is not a third just like his brother Mcsorley should keep his place, strange choice in ronnie playing third to a new skip a more experienced third will be needed in future maybe lee is the man for that job, trevor had a fair game and should keep his place, the young guns, ryan, stuart played very well mixed with experienced bowlers keeping them right, lorenzo had a great game with his rink leading from the front, terence played his usual forcing game and it worked as usual, dermot was on form again but patsy was off song, i could go on and on but what is the point.
u can all say what u like about the team but there were a few outstanding performances on the day, Dermott, Joe Miller, Lorenzo, Pat, Mark, Terence, Billy, Ryan, all these players showed the selectors what they can do and they more than deserve their place on the team, Joe Miller played some big bowls under pressure and was very unlucky not to win, but he had no help on his rink at all, Terence likewise had to dig deep to get his result and Dermott and Mark were just a different class, this must change before the next game, the luck cant hold out forever and it will take one or two bad ends to wreck the coupon.
Joe had a poor game just like manus kyle and trevor, terance also didn't make much off a differce to he's game stuart and richard lee had that game wrapped up from the start? Mark didn't have a great game either he miss a few chances and drop a few short bowls?
NotAClue.com, there are lots of jokers on here trying to stir it up and if the selectors have an ounce of sense they will ignore them. Could it be halfmat up to his old tricks?
somebody picking at the negatives, joe had a good game and played well unlucky to lose, as for terence and mark they must have played well to both win their games by about 10 each. You are the type of player/complainer foyle can do without. I thought the team played well with maybe 1 or 2 changes needed
who said terance had a good game they must be watching a differant game from what i did.stuart richard and lee done all the work they should have more shots all good heads they had if terance had bowled.i think jimmy rink needs changed his 1 and 2 not up to par and ronnie a 2 not a 3rd.
Halfmat was me but that was a joke on the North West site but it is not me this time. I have just spent some time on the phone to a friend of mine who told me what was on the site and after reading it i just can't believe the depths that some people will go to just to get up peoples noses and i am not going to add fuel to the fire by giving my opinion of the game but what i would like to see is for the administrator of this site to go back to the way they had it before where he had to proof read a post before it went on, we do not want a repeat of the North West blog at any cost and the fact that these spineless ar***holes can post harming remarks under anonymous profiles says it all gutless and scared to face the people they intend to hurt and i bet they are laughing right now reading this so i implore you administrator to firstly remove the offensive comments and then put some control measures in place to stop this happening again.
guys this is a digrace talking about fellow teamates in this way it is good being constructive and remember have you ever seen a fill team play well in any zone.the team got a win so lets wait and just see what the selectors do they had the guts to pick the teams while others just sit and moan later.
Well then its good to see so many talking about a game in Cork. You must have had plenty of supporters, NOT. lol. Im from the NW and can get you a deal for some players for foyle that will strenghen you lot. Problem there is not many we can take from Foyle to even strenghen our subs bench that Homer used to keep. As for slating Noel and Johnny, stupid ideai as they have and are playing with decent players and improving their game. What about you posters that slate them, i bet your not fit to clean their bowls never mind beat them regularly! It's a shame that the better players from you zone all play competitive bowls in Limavady as they cant play in the Churches leagues up there. So to belittle those that actually can play is sad. It was Cork, a game you should win given you are only at best ranked 20th in the zones, not far ahead of the Belfast teams.
I would be suprised if Halfmat would even stoop to this level of crap talk about fellow players no matter if he was unhappy at being dropped to 2nd. Peter Lynch is a good addition to your team and will a sick daughter could not go to Cork. I doubt he will even play for you after the stupid comments about him here, shows how much you all know about bowls to say the thing you do. I would like to see Foyle win there next game just to keep you all quiet. Shameless bowlers you seem to be.
Its prob sumbody who wants to be on the team and they think by saying people are crape they will wiggle their way into the team. I can't see any of the men on the team critising team mates so badly
To people from the North West, the idea of the Churches league was to allow, NON tournament players, a sociable and competitive evening in the winter months.
It is laughable that so called tournament players have hijack this league so that they can try and at least win something in the year.
Non Tournament Players like N Donnell T Britton R Donnell L Britton J Donnell K Lynch S Holden R Kincaid S Donaghy R Nixon S Donnell N Alcock. Yes I guess you are right
thats a weak team not even lined out properly!
ReplyDeleteI like this team they have good chance to win..let's go foyle do our talking on the mat
ReplyDeletewhy is mcsorley playing at number 2 that is a big shock he has been on the team a long time and is just being past over and to look at some of the back end players it just makes you wonder what went on at the meeting

ReplyDeleteB Donnell, Moore and Holden out for Eakin, P Lynch and MCConomy, interesting.
Whats your reasons and why move so many around again.
McConomy wont play for foyle after how he was treated before si forget that, moore should keep his place bobby is not good enough and until we hear why lynch cried iff, he should not be back either, manus is on the verge of being dropped, noel donnell is not a third just like his brother
ReplyDeleteMcsorley should keep his place, strange choice in ronnie playing third to a new skip a more experienced third will be needed in future maybe lee is the man for that job, trevor had a fair game and should keep his place, the young guns, ryan, stuart played very well mixed with experienced bowlers keeping them right, lorenzo had a great game with his rink leading from the front, terence played his usual forcing game and it worked as usual, dermot was on form again but patsy was off song, i could go on and on but what is the point.
